Primarily set in the 1920s, we follow Esta, a talented thief, that’s sent on a mission to steal an important magical artifact with the hopes of saving other magic users in modern day New York.

At one point, I stopped reading because the events leading up to the ending made me so anxious. I was terrified for the characters and didn’t want to see their plans fail until I had the sequel in my hands. It’s an engaging YA novel with highly developed world building and interesting characters.
