It all started when...

After failing to document my journey in graduate school, I figured an early career librarian's life would be just as interesting.

Since transitioning from film and television to librarianship, I have grown to really care about the lack of diversity in the publishing industry and the library and information science field. Color the Shelves is one place where I can add my voice to the scores of influencers on the web. I'll share reviews, musings from the field, life outside the library, and maybe some other passions I've yet to discover.
